What Dwellr Does

Dwellr recommends long-form article links based on interests you enter and feedback you give. The app shows article links, short previews, and recommendation explanations. When you open an article, it opens on the publisher's website.

Data We Collect

Dwellr collects data needed to create your account, personalize recommendations, remember feedback, and keep the backend service working.

• Apple login identifier and email address, when Apple provides one.
• Reading interests and guided customization choices.
• Optional preference notes about articles you like or dislike.
• Recommended article links, titles, previews, source names, and images.
• Article opens, Good/Skip/Save feedback, saved articles, and source-quality signals inferred from feedback.
• Recommendation run history, internal quality measurements, and backend diagnostic logs.
• Subscription status later, if paid features are added.

Data We Do Not Collect In The Current Version

Dwellr does not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or audio data, health data, payment card details, advertising identifiers, data from other apps, or retained full article bodies. Dwellr can temporarily retrieve public publisher-page text to check article length and quality, but does not retain the full text or send it to the recommendation model in production. Model-provider API keys and database credentials are not stored in the iOS app.

How We Use Data

We use data to create and protect your account, save your interests, build and improve recommendations, remember feedback and saved articles, diagnose backend failures, and apply subscription access rules later.

Recommendation Model Processing

Dwellr asks for your permission before it sends personal reading data to Mistral. If you decline, Dwellr does not ask Mistral to make new recommendations. If you allow it, Dwellr sends Mistral's paid API the interests and reading preferences you entered, feedback-derived taste examples, and public article titles and previews. Dwellr does not include your name, email address, Apple login identifier, Dwellr account identifier, or session token in those model requests. Dwellr requires the provider account to exclude these requests from model training.

You can withdraw permission at any time in Account by choosing Stop sharing with Mistral. That stops new model-backed recommendations and cancels future reading-list reminders; lists already delivered remain available.

No Advertising Tracking Or Sale Of Personal Data

Dwellr does not sell personal data. Dwellr does not use your reading data for third-party advertising or tracking. We may use your reading history to improve recommendations inside Dwellr, but not to follow you across other companies' apps or websites for ads.

Article Content Boundary

Dwellr stores public article links, titles, previews, source names, and short recommendation explanations. Dwellr is a recommender, not an article republisher.

Account Deletion

The app includes a Delete account action. When you delete your account, Dwellr removes reader-specific data such as your profile, interests, customization choices, recommendation runs, article open events, feedback, and saved-article records. Shared article-link records may remain because the same public article can appear in another reader's list.

Dwellr does not retain the Apple authorization code needed to revoke Apple access automatically. After deletion, the app provides a link and clear instructions to open the Apple Account page, choose Sign in with Apple, select Dwellr, and stop using Sign in with Apple. Dwellr also signs the reader out if iOS reports that the Apple authorization was revoked.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep your account and reading data while your account exists. Deleting your account removes the active reader-specific database records immediately. Render database-recovery copies can retain deleted records for up to 7 days. Hosting and application diagnostic logs can remain for up to 30 days. Internal quality reports can contain a Dwellr profile identifier and summarized reading activity; these reports are automatically deleted after no more than 30 days, including after account deletion. Mistral can retain model API inputs and outputs for up to 30 rolling days, including after Dwellr account deletion.

Service Providers

Dwellr currently uses Apple for Sign in with Apple, Render for backend and database hosting, Mistral's paid API for server-side recommendation judging, and public publisher websites and feeds as article sources.

Dwellr requires service providers that receive personal data to provide the same or equivalent privacy protection described in this policy: they may process the data only to provide their stated service, must protect it under applicable privacy law, and must follow the disclosed retention and model-training limits. Dwellr stops sending personal data to a provider if it cannot meet those requirements.

Security

Production mode requires Sign in with Apple. Backend secrets stay on the server. Health checks report whether secrets are configured but do not reveal secret values. The iOS app stores backend session tokens in the iOS Keychain.
